Where’s our girl Ameriie been?

Where has Ameriie been? We’ve missed her since her 2009 album release, In Love & War, but it's good to see her back, talking to The Breakfast Club.

The Breakfast Club gang brought up the fact that we haven’t seen her around in a long time and questioned if that was down to her marriage to her manager. Did the relationship ruin her career and chances of further success? Ameriie denied her husband/ manager had anything to do with her music hiatus saying, “He’s actually very supportive, so a lot of my creative energy comes from our relationship.” She also highlighted that she’s reluctant to chase after fame so she wasn’t pushing her career forward as hard as she could have.

The singer said that she’s in a very creative space and mindset right now so she’s been working on a lot of new music, with the release of her new EP Drive on May 20th, she’s been busy and she plans to create another EP straight after.

Her new mixtape sounds a lot like her old work, so it’s good that she’s held on to that style of music. You can listen to it on her SoundCloud.

Apparently, she has also been doing a lot of writing and has an anthology with a villain theme called Because You Love to Hate Me coming out. She’s also in the process of writing a sci-fi, fantasy trilogy!

She’s definitely putting her brains and English degree to good use–“I love writing. That’s what I used to do when I was really, really little”, she announced. Her written work will definitely be interesting to read. She confessed that she’s a big geek so we’ll be following her writing progress and keep you guys updated!
