Ellen Pompeo signs deal to remain on ‘Grey’s Anatomy’

After coming off one of its strongest seasons, Grey’s Anatomy fans will be pleased to know that Meredith Grey will be returning for the thirteenth season.

The actress Ellen Pompeo has officially signed a deal for her character, Dr. Grey, to return to the medical drama next season.

Despite favourite characters such as Dr. Christina Yang (Sandra Oh) and Dr. Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey) having departed from the show, Grey’s Anatomy is still ABC’s highest rated TV show and in some parts of the US is one of the top five dramas on TV, according to Deadline.

Deadline have also revealed that the new contract makes Ellen one of the highest-paid actresses on TV, earning more than $300,000 an episode.

We’ll be happy to see her when the new season airs later this year.
