Chaos ensues as Kanye announces surprise show at Webster Hall at 2am
Kanye was set to headline at the last day of the Governor’s Ball yesterday in NY but it was officially cancelled due to bad weather.
The statement from the festival read: “Sunday, June 5th of Gov Ball 2016 has officially been cancelled, due to severe weather and a high likelihood of lightning in the area. The safety of fans, artists and crew always comes first.”
Kanye then tried to do a secret pop-up performance and went on to social media to let fans know about the surprise. On Snapchat, wife Kim Kardashian posted a video of Ye trying to get a whole block in NY shut down so that he could perform. In the video he can be heard saying: “Call the mayor and shut down the block about four streets and put screens up so they could have a party outside, I heard it was sold out already.”
However, the whole event turned into mayhem as over 4,000 fans swarmed Webster Hall. Everyone was eager to get to the venue and to see Ye so they climbed on top of cars, dumpsters and scaffolding and hung out of windows to get a better view of him as he appeared through the sunroof of his car.

As expected the cops shut it down but fans remained at the scene for more than two hours after the rapper left.
